I've made two fastening devices for my MacBook Air, to make it mountable on a camera tripod together with the camera, or a light stand with a flash head. I've used mostly aluminium, even for some of the bolts, so the brackets are pretty light.
The idea is to see Lightroom-adjusted versions directly after the exposure, to be able to adjust lights according to how the image will look in a more post-worked state. I've become used to this lately, and it's such a boost for the resulting quality; to be able to shoot with perfect settings for post work.

Clients also love being able to see images directly on location, and with predefined custom Lightroom adjustments, the images look a lot better out of the box, making Art Directors extra happy and confident. It makes the whole set filled with a more relaxed feeling.
With such a light computer as the MacBook Air, I can have it mounted to the camera tripod. Also, with a wifi-connected camera, the computer sits just perfect on a light stand when working hand-held with flash setups. Using Canons remote flash control, or my radio triggers, everything works without cords, even the connection to the computer.

The two fastening devices weighs 195 and 600 grams, with the heavier being adjustable and with an Arca-Swiss quick plate system. The lighter one is mostly made for light stands.
I'm planning on integrating ShutterVoice in this workflow, which by the way is available for sale now. Imagine hand-holding a really tall boom with a camera on top, framing the scene using Live View remotely via wifi to the computer, mounted on the boom with one of these brackets. Framing is controlled with hands holding the boom, and the camera is controlled using voice commands via ShutterVoice and Live View. That's the sky-lift look in a cheap simple setup :-)

Merry christmas everyone, take care and be well!

Mvh Peter
